Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:39 PM CST on November 25, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 am to 9 PM CST

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for freezing rain and snow... which is in effect
from 6 am to 9 PM CST Thursday. The Winter Storm Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Timing... rain will begin to change to freezing rain Thursday
morning before changing to light snow.

* Storm total snow/ice accumulations... ice accumulations of 0.10
to 0.15 inches are possible. Snowfall accumulations will
follow... generally an inch or two.

* Winds/visibility... north winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph
across the area late Thursday.

* Impacts... untreated surfaces are expected to become icy with
travel impacted during the afternoon and night. Another impact
may be from ice accumulating on colder elevated surfaces of
trees and wires. With winds increasing during the night there
will be a possibility of tree damage and isolated power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
