Mostly cloudy. Showers likely and chance of thunderstorms in the morning...then showers likely and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the morning. Highs 78 to 83. East winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... the island of Oahu in Honolulu County
* until 530 am HST
* at 232 am HST... radar showed heavy rain in the Laie Hauula areas of Oahu. The heavy showers and thunderstorms have been training over this area in the past few hours.
* Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Punaluu... Laie and Kahuku.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams... roads and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot. Turn around... Don/T drown.
This Flash Flood Warning replaces the Flood Advisory that was in effect for the island of Oahu in Honolulu County.
This warning may need to be extended beyond 530 am HST if flash flooding persists.

* Nearly stationary upper level low pressure west of the state will maintain an unstable atmosphere. Combined with sufficient moisture moving in from the east-southeast the threat of flash flooding will continue through this afternoon.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Prepare now for the possibility of very heavy rainfall that could cause flash flooding.
Campers and hikers should pay particular attention to later forecasts. Stay away from creeks... streams... and other flood prone areas. Remember that it does not have to be raining where you are for flash flooding to occur.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the
* Flood Advisory for the island of Oahu in Honolulu County
* until 530 am HST
* at 210 am HST... radar showed continued moderate to locally heavy showers and thunderstorms training across the northern half of the Koolau Mountains and adjacent areas on Oahu with brief lulls. The heavy showers and thunderstorms are moving north and northwest at 10 mph.
* Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Punaluu... Turtle Bay... pupukea... Laie and Kahuku.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Stay away from streams... drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding... reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot. Turn around... Don/T drown.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 530 am HST if heavy rain persists.
