Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:23 PM HST on November 14, 2009
... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through late tonight...
The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* all Hawaiian islands.
* Through late tonight.
*The upper trough west of the state is weakening. The atmosphere
will remain unstable overnight along with abundant low level
moisture. The threat of locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding
will persist through tonight.
* Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Prepare now for the possibility of very heavy
rainfall that could cause flash flooding.
Campers and hikers should pay particular attention to later
forecasts. Stay away from creeks... streams... and other flood
prone areas. Remember that it does not have to be raining where
you are for flash flooding to occur.
