Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:25 PM HST on March 01, 2015

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood Advisory for the island of Hawaii in Hawaii County

* until 515 PM HST

* at 212 PM HST... radar showed heavy rain over the interior of The
Big Island of Hawaii. Thunder has been reported by spotters in
several locations. The rain gage at Waiakea uka has reported
rainfall of over 2 inches per hour. The area of rain is nearly
stationary.

* This advisory includes the entire Big Island of Hawaii.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams... drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding... reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
Turn around... Don/T drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 515 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.
