The Flash Flood Watch continues for * all Hawaiian islands. * Through late Thursday night. * Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop as a strong upper level low develops north of the islands today. The upper low will remain near the islands through at least Thursday... continuing the threat for flash flooding. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Prepare now for the possibility of very heavy rainfall that could cause flash flooding. Campers and hikers should pay particular attention to later forecasts. Stay away from creeks... streams... and other flood prone areas. Remember that it does not have to be raining where you are for flash flooding to occur.

Northeast winds are expected to increase this morning to speeds of 20 to 35 mph... with higher gusts. The gusty northeast winds will continue through the day... before diminishing tonight. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Secure any loose objects that may become airborne... or move them indoors.
