... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday evening through late Thursday night...
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for all Hawaiian islands
* from Tuesday evening through late Thursday night.
* Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop as a strong upper level low moves in from the north late Tuesday night. The upper low will remain near the islands through Wednesday and Thursday... continuing the threat for flash flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Prepare now for the possibility of very heavy rainfall that could cause flash flooding.
Campers and hikers should pay particular attention to later forecasts. Stay away from creeks... streams... and other flood prone areas. Remember that it does not have to be raining where you are for flash flooding to occur.
