Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:39 PM HST on March 04, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 am HST Thursday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Maui and The Big Island.

* Until 6 am HST Thursday.

* Heavy rain will bring the threat for flash flooding on Maui
and The Big Island.

* The highest threat will be on the windward sides of Maui and
The Big Island where the trade-wind flow will focus the
showers. Excessive runoff may result in rock and mudslides in
steep terrain. Fast moving waters may create life threatening
situations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid camping or hiking near streams and low lying areas. Monitor
the latest forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action if
heavy rain occurs or flash flood warnings are issued. Remember
that it does not have to be raining where you are for flash
flooding to occur.
