The strongest activity will be east of Interstate 95...especially across coastal Liberty and coastal Bryan counties. Expect rain totals up to 1/4 of an inch in an hours time for most areas. Some isolated locations will receive from 1 to 2 inches of rain due to heavy downpours. Be alert for ponding of water where heavy rain falls.

McIntosh County in southeast Georgia... * until 345 PM EDT * at 240 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated heavy rain occurring along a line extending from Ossabaw Island to Darien... moving west at 15 mph. * Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... Meridian... Carnigan... Crescent... Oak level... Shellman Bluff... Sweet Hill... Keller... portions of Interstate 95 in Liberty and McIntosh counties... Precautionary/preparedness actions... This heavy rainfall will result in significant ponding of water on area roads and in low spots. Slow down to reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Statement as of 11:04 am EDT on July 10, 2009 ... Radio weekly test postponed for today... The National Weather Service in Charleston South Carolina is postponing the regularly scheduled radio weekly test of NOAA Weather Radio all hazards due to severe weather conditions over the area. This test is normally conducted between 11 am and noon each Wednesday. The test is now scheduled to be conducted Saturday between 11 am and noon weather permitting.
