Statement as of 9:50 AM EST on November 12, 2009 ... Flood Warning extended until Sunday morning... the Flood Warning continues for the Oconee river near Penfield * until Sunday morning. * At 915 am Thursday the stage was 17.7 feet... and rising slow. * Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 11.0 feet. * The river will continue rising to near 18.4 feet by Friday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. * At 18.0 feet... moderate flooding begins. Ward Road floods and cuts off access to l.C. Curtis and son sand and gravel company. Irrigation systems also begin to flood and need to be moved to higher ground.
