Statement as of 1:48 PM EST on November 15, 2009 The National Weather Service in Jacksonville FL has issued a * Flood Warning for the Altamaha river at Baxley. * From late Wednesday night until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 12:45 PM Sunday the stage was 70.5 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 74.5 feet. * Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Thursday morning and continue to rise to near 76.6 feet by Friday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter. * Impact... at 78.0 feet... water begins to affect homes in the Carter bight and Davis Landing area.
