Statement as of 3:05 AM EST on November 11, 2009
The Flood Warning continues for
the Conasauga river near Tilton
* from tonight until Friday morning.
* At 2 am EST Wednesday the stage was 12.8 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast by tonight.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage Wednesday night... and continue to
rise to near 19.4 feet by early Thursday afternoon. The river is
expected to fall below flood stage by early Friday morning.
* At 18.0 feet... flood stage is reached. Minor flooding begins of the
Woodland areas along the river.
Wind Advisory
Statement as of 3:20 AM EST on November 11, 2009
... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening...
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening...
for all of north and central Georgia.
A strong pressure gradient will continue over the area due to the
remnants of Ida and strong high pressure over the Great Lakes
area. Winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 can be
expected to continue through this evening. Additionally... with
wet ground conditions across the area... it will not take very
strong winds for trees to begin to fall.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
