... Record daily maximum rainfall set at Atlanta... a record rainfall of 4.05 inches was set at Atlanta yesterday. This breaks the old record of 2.57 set in 1966.

... Rainfall totals for the 9-11 November heavy rain event... The following are some rainfall totals that occurred 9-11 November as heavy rains spread northward from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida as the storm tracked eastward along the Florida Panhandle and extreme south Georgia. These are rainfall totals from the Ida heavy rain event that occurred between 1 PM Monday, November 9, 2009 through 1 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Station ID heavy rain event total pcpn (1pm 11/9 - 1pm 11/11) Albany :aby 0.62 Alma :amg 0.49 Athens :ahn 3.97 Atlanta :atl 4.72 Augusta :ags 4.48 Brunswick :ssi 0.35 Cartersville :vpc 4.52 Columbus :csg 5.60 Gainesville :gvl 4.16 Macon :mcn 2.77 Marietta :mge 4.30 NE Atlanta :pdk 4.63 Peachtree City :ffc 4.84 Rome :rmg 3.46 Savannah :sav 1.36 Valdosta :vld 0.98 west Atlanta :fty 4.72 The widespread heavy rain caused numerous creeks, streams and rivers to rise above flood stage... causing minor and moderate flooding across much of north and central Georgia.
