Statement as of 11:44 AM EDT on April 19, 2015

... Flood Warning extended until Tuesday morning for
the Ocmulgee River near Macon.
* Until Tuesday morning.
* At 10 am Sunday the stage was 18.1 feet... and steady.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 18 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 18.5 feet by this evening.
The river will fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning.
* At 19 feet... minor flooding continues. The Macon Greenway
Ocmulgee heritage trail will begin to flood in areas just north of
the Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The public should not use
this portion of the trail. In addition... the lowest sections of the
Charles Jones Gateway Park will flood. Portions of agricultural
lands well downstream will be under two feet of water.

Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 8:01 AM EDT on April 19, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for north and central Georgia.

* Through late tonight

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will lead to
widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches. When combined with
recently saturated grounds... flooding will be likely for already
swollen rivers across the area. In addition to the river
flooding... isolated flash flooding will be possible as well heavy
rainfall over already saturated grounds.

* Flooding of low lying... poor drainage areas is likely... along
with the potential flash flooding of several flood prone rivers
and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very
dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood
warnings be issued.
