Special Statement
Statement as of 3:13 AM EST on March 06, 2015

... Patchy black ice likely across north and much of central
Georgia this morning...

A cold air mass has spread across the state with many areas below
freezing or expected to reach freezing before sunrise. This
coupled with wet grounds from widespread rains will result in
patches of black ice... resulting in slick spots on area roads and
bridges. The main black ice threat this morning will generally be
along and north of a Columbus to Macon to Warrenton line.

Temperatures across central Georgia should rise above freezing by
10am and by noon across north Georgia. However... it could take
into the afternoon before isolated areas in the mountains... mainly
the higher elevations... reach above freezing.

People traveling across north and much of central Georgia
this morning should use extra caution and be prepared for slick
spots on roads.

... Patchy black ice likely across north and much of central
Georgia tonight...

As a very cold air mass continues to spread in over the state
this evening and overnight... temperatures will fall at or below

in slick spots on area roads and bridges. The main black ice
threat tonight will be generally along and north of a Columbus to
Macon to Warrenton line... and through Friday morning.

People traveling across north and much of central Georgia
tonight and Friday morning should use extra caution and be
prepared for slick spots on roads.
