Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:23 PM EST on November 10, 2009
... Wind Advisory now in effect until 7 PM EST Wednesday...
The Wind Advisory is now in effect until 7 PM EST Wednesday for
north and central Georgia.
A strong pressure gradient will continue over the area due to the
remnants of Ida and strong high pressure over the Great Lakes area.
Winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 can be expected to
continue through tomorrow evening. Additionally... with wet ground
conditions across the area... it will not take very strong winds
for trees to begin to fall.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
