Areas of active weather are anticipated across parts of Europe on Saturday as a low pressure system moves in from the North Atlantic Ocean. As this system moves into the Bay of Biscay, flow around it will push abundant moisture onshore. This will produce warm and humid conditions across France and the Mediterranean countries. This will allow for thunderstorm development in these areas throughout the day. Heaviest storms with strong winds and periods of heavy rainfall are most likely in parts of Italy and countries surrounding the Adriatic Sea. Rome will see mostly cloudy skies with a chance of thunderstorms and highs in the mid-70s(F)/ lower 20s(C), while Athens will see scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the evening with highs also in the mid-70s(F)/ lower 20s(C). Meanwhile, Barcelona will be south of this activity under mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s(F)/ mid-20s(C).

North of this system, a ridge of high pressure builds over the North Sea and stretches into Scandinavia. Flow around this system will push moisture away to the south, allowing for dry and warm conditions across northern and central Europe. London will be sunny and breezy with highs in the lower 70s(F)/ lower 20s(C), while Oslo and Stockholm will also see sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s(F)/ lower 20s(C).

To the east, an area of low pressure lingers over Russia and kicks up a few widespread showers that stretch into eastern Europe. Significant rainfall is not anticipated in these areas. .
