The river will fall below flood stage early this morning. * At 11.0 feet... flood stage is reached. Minor flooding occurs with flooding of yards. * This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.0 feet on Sep 21 2009.

The Flood Warning continues for the Peachtree creek near Atlanta * until this afternoon. * At 2 am Wednesday the stage was 18.1 feet... and slowly falling. * Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast to continue for a few more hours. * Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Moderate flood stage is 18.0 feet. * The river will fall below flood stage later today. * At 19.0 feet... moderate flooding expands. Water about 1 foot deep enters homes on Hanover drive. Homes are flooded along armand drive and Peachtree battle Circle. Basements of homes along west Nancy Creek Road begin to flood. Fairhaven Circle begins to flood.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a * Flood Warning for the South Fork Peachtree creek near Atlanta * from this evening until further notice. * At 10 PM Tuesday the stage was 11.4 feet... and rising steadily. * Flood stage is 12.0 feet. * The creek is expected to rise above flood stage within the next few hours.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of central Georgia... east central Georgia... north central Georgia... northeast Georgia... northwest Georgia and west central Georgia.
* Until 7 am EST this morning
* widespread heavy rainfall has produced rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches has occurred across north Georgia since Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall over the next few hours... with highest amounts expected across north Georgia where an additional 1 to 2 inches are possible. The rain will begin to let up later this morning and into this afternoon.
* Creeks and streams are responding to the rain with fairly rapid rises occurring... especially in the mountains and across the Atlanta Metro area. Minor to moderate flooding will continue on some small to medium sized creeks and rivers. This flooding has begun to spread to the larger river systems and will continue for the next couple of days. With autumn in full swing... the trees across north and central Georgia have been dropping their leaves. This could lead to storm drains becoming clogged... resulting in street flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening... for all of north and central Georgia.
A strong pressure gradient will continue over the area due to the remnants of Ida and strong high pressure over the Great Lakes area. Winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 can be expected to continue through this evening. Additionally... with wet ground conditions across the area... it will not take very strong winds for trees to begin to fall.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
