* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 19.8 feet this morning.
The river will fall below flood stage tonight.
* At 20.0 feet... major flooding begins. Many homes... nearby shops...
restaurants... and Lovett school will be flooded. Homes flood along
Paces Ferry southeast drive.

the Sweetwater creek near Austell
* until late Thursday night.
* At 3 am EST Wednesday the stage was 10.8 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet. Moderate flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 13.7 feet by early this
afternoon. The river is expected to fall below flood by Thursday
evening.
* At 15.0 feet... moderate flooding increases. Flooding increases near
Wren Circle and robin Road.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening...
for all of north and central Georgia.

A strong pressure gradient will continue over the area due to the
remnants of Ida and strong high pressure over the Great Lakes
area. Winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 can be
expected to continue through this evening. Additionally... with
wet ground conditions across the area... it will not take very
strong winds for trees to begin to fall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Record daily maximum rainfall set at Atlanta...

a record rainfall of 4.05 inches was set at Atlanta yesterday. This
breaks the old record of 2.57 set in 1966.
