Flood Warning
Statement as of 11:08 PM EST on November 12, 2009
... Flood Warning extended until Sunday morning... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Oconee river near Penfield
* until Sunday morning.
* At 10 PM EST Thursday the stage was 17.8 feet... and nearly steady.
* Minor flooding is occurring. Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Moderate flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 18.5 feet by Friday
evening. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday
morning.
* At 18.0 feet... moderate flooding begins. Ward Road floods and cuts
off access to l.C. Curtis and son sand and gravel company.
Irrigation systems also begin to flood and need to be moved to
higher ground.
