Through late afternoon...isolated storms will move slowly east across the northern portion of east central Florida...generally northward from Orlando and Cape Canaveral. The storms will increase in coverage and a few strong storms with frequent to excessive lightning are expected...especially from around Cape Canaveral into Metro Orlando. South of Orlando and Cape Canaveral to around Lake Okeechobee...mid to high level clouds were thinning which will allow for heating and destabilization of the atmosphere. So during the late afternoon and early evening hours...storms will start to form across the south half of the area...and a few could become severe.

* At 414 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing nickel size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Port Canaveral to 8 miles west of viera... or along a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Port Canaveral to 9 miles southwest of Rockledge... and moving south at 25 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds in excess of 58 miles an hour and or large destructive hail. Frequent to excessive lightning and very heavy rain will also be possible. If the storm approaches you... seek shelter in an enclosed building on the lowest floor. Keep away from windows.

At 404 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of strong storms from 10 miles northeast of Cape Canaveral to 6 miles south of lone cabbage Fish Camp... moving south at 25 mph.
Additional strong storms will develop along and ahead of this line of storms into central and southern Brevard County.
The primary threat will be cloud to ground lightning strikes and gusty winds of 40 to 45 mph... which may cause unsecured objects to blow around. Torrential rainfall can be expected... causing temporary ponding on some roads and minor flooding of poor drainage areas. Motorists should slow down in heavy rainfall to reduce the risk of hydroplaning and leave safe distance between other vehicles.
A brief period of small hail... pea to dime size... will also be possible in localized areas.
