Through 500 am...scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue affect the offshore Gulf waters west of Mainland Monroe...and the Atlantic waters mainly beyond 15 nm offshore from the Keys island chain. The strongest storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours with visibilities reduced to 2 nm or less...along with wind gusts of 30 knots or more...and frequent lightning strikes. Movement of this activity will be generally to the west at 10 to 15 knots. Over land...a line of showers will develop along the Lower Keys from Boca Chica to Key West...producing scattered rainfall amounts of a trace up to one quarter of an inch. Elsewhere...areas of light rain will gradually diminish across the Upper Keys...with locations from Ocean Reef to Key Largo possibly receiving additional rainfall amounts of a trace up to one tenth of an inch.
