Warnings and Notices
High Surf Advisory, Coastal Flood Warning
Statement as of 10:41 AM CST on November 10, 2009
... High surf advisory in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening... ... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening... The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a high surf advisory... which is in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening. A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening. Storm tides of 3 to 5 feet will gradually subside through the remainder of the afternoon as onshore flow weakens. Minor coastal flooding... including a few Road closures will remain possible into the early evening. In addition... the onshore flow will continue to generate 5 to 7 foot breakers along area beaches. This will lead to a high risk of rip currents and may contribute to minor beach erosion. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water... and take appropriate action to protect life and property. A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.
