Coastal Hazard Statement
Statement as of 4:30 AM CDT on May 23, 2015

... High rip current risk will be in effect from early Sunday
afternoon through Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a high rip current
risk... which will be in effect from early Sunday afternoon through
Tuesday afternoon.

* Timing... from early Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.

* Impacts... frequent life-threatening rip currents are expected. The
surf will be dangerous for all levels of swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the surf. If
you become caught in a rip current... Yell and wave your arms for
help and remain calm. Do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while
waiting for help. If you have to swim out of a rip current... swim
parallel to shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not
attempt to swim directly against a rip current as you will tire
quickly.
