Locally heavy rain is expected across the Treasure Coast through mid afternoon with additional rainfall amounts of around one inch leading to further ponding of water on roadways. A low pressure system across the northeast Gulf of Mexico will continue northeastward with shower and thunderstorm redevelopment expected ahead of the cold front. Some breaks in the cloudiness will allow showers and storms to develop this afternoon across central Florida with a possible thin squall line developing ahead of the front and enhancing the risk of isolated damaging wind gusts and even a few tornadoes. People in east central Florida should continue to monitor the weather situation through the late afternoon hours and listen for later statements...watches or possible warnings.
