Nowcast | as of 8:37 PM EDT on September 19, 2014

Widespread light to moderate rainfall will continue across most of east central Florida through the late evening and overnight hours as weak low pressure system starts to take shape over South Florida and the eastern Gulf of Mexico overnight. Heavier showers and a few storms will be embedded within this activity...with most of the heavier activity currently associated with a band lifting northwards through Brevard and Osceola counties as well as the adjacent Atlantic. This band is expected to continue to lift slowly northwards with time. Most locations within the light to moderate rain will see totals up to a quarter of an inch this evening. However locally heavy rainfall will be possible along the Brevard coast this evening...and the Volusia County coast later tonight with totals over an inch possible in a short period of time. A few stronger showers and storms may produce wind gusts up to 40 mph...especially as they move into the coast.
