Statement as of 2:30 PM EDT on May 10, 2008 ... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening... The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. Drier air will filter into the region Monday following passage of a cold front. Minimum relative humidity will plummet to 25 to 30 percent for 5 to 7 hours. In addition sustained 20 foot wind speeds will be 15 to 20 mph. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
