High Surf Advisory | |

Statement as of 9:14 PM CDT on March 21, 2010 ... High surf advisory in effect from noon today to 7 am CDT Tuesday... The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a high surf advisory... which continues in effect until 7 am CDT Tuesday. The surf along portions of the Florida Panhandle are reaching heights of 4 to 6 feet this Sunday evening. Occasional higher sets will be possible. Surf heights will likely peak between Panama City and Cape San Blas on Monday... with 5 to 7 feet breakers and occasional sets reaching 10 feet. Such surf is usually high enough to close some roads in Gulf County... especially at Cape San Blas. The surf will gradually subside Monday night and Tuesday... but surf heights up to 5 feet may persist into Tuesday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach erosion. |

Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings. |
