Coastal Flood Statement
Statement as of 2:01 AM EST on November 10, 2009
... High risk of rip currents at area beaches...
The combination of easterly swells and strong onshore flow will
create a high rip current risk today. Rip currents are life-threatening
to anyone entering the surf. Minor beach erosion and coastal
flooding are possible during times of high tide. Breakers heights
will range from 4 to 6 feet. An occasional breaker set of 7 feet
is possible... mainly south of Saint Augustine.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio... commercial radio or television
stations for updates. For additional information... visit the
National Weather Service in Jacksonville website on the internet
