High Surf Advisory | |

Statement as of 6:26 PM CST on November 10, 2009 ... High surf advisory in effect until 3 am CST Wednesday for the southwest facing beaches of the Florida Panhandle... ... Coastal Flood Warning has expired... The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a high surf advisory... which is in effect until 3 am CST Wednesday. The coastal Flood Warning is no longer in effect. While surf heights are beginning to subside... enough wave energy is still advancing toward the coast in southerly swells to produce 4 to 6 foot breakers along the southwest facing beaches of the Florida Panhandle. This will lead to a high risk of rip currents and may contribute to minor beach erosion. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach erosion. |

Statement as of 1:45 AM CST on November 11, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 8 am EST /7 am CST/ this morning to 6 PM EST /5 PM CST/ this evening... The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a lake Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 8 am EST /7 am CST/ this morning to 6 PM EST /5 PM CST/ this evening. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. |
