Through late afternoon...scattered to numerous showers and storms will move east to northeast at 20 to 25 mph across Okeechobee... northern St. Lucie...Indian River...Osceola and southern Brevard counties. Isolated storms should also start to form over the eastern part of Martin County. Some of the storms will become strong to severe with winds over 50 mph. Excessive lightning strikes will also occur in a few of these storms. Move indoors at the first sign of darkening skies to the west...as lightning strikes sometime occur well ahead of the heavy rainfall associated with the storm. Boaters should plan now to go to safe port before the storms push across the coast.
