Scattered showers continued to develop across the coastal counties from coastal Volusia County...from Cocoa to Palm Bay and Fort Pierce to Port Saint Lucie. These showers will drift slowly and develop further inland by mid afternoon. The Fort Pierce tower recently reported a funnel cloud with one of the showers near the Saint Lucie County coast that then dissipated after a short time. Isolated showers across the near shore Atlantic waters will also drift toward the coast with a very low risk of a waterspout with a few of the showers across the Atlantic into mid afternoon. Brief heavy downpours can also be expected with the slow-moving showers with only a very low threat for lightning storms today...with the greatest chance during the late afternoon.
