Nowcast | as of 3:44 PM EST on March 1, 2015

Partly to mostly cloudy skies expected through the rest of the afternoon with temperatures in the 70s. Showers over the Atlantic will continue to weaken as they move toward the coast...but a few may still be able to push onshore mainly along Brevard County. Otherwise most precipitation will be limited to inland areas with isolated to scattered showers developing over the interior counties and moving northwest. This activity will generally produce light to moderate rainfall with amounts around a quarter of an inch or less. Coastal Hazard Statement
Statement as of 4:20 AM EST on March 01, 2015

... High rip current risk in effect through this evening...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a high rip
current risk... which is in effect through this evening.

* Timing... east swells will produce a high risk of rip currents
which will be enhanced near the time of low tide from late
morning into the early afternoon.

* Impacts... rough surf and dangerous rip currents are expected at
east central Florida beaches today posing a hazard to swimmers.
If caught in a rip current... swim parallel to the beach until
out of the pull of the current and then swim back to shore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore... which occur most often at low spots or breaks in The
Sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards and the beach patrol. Pay
attention to flags and posted signs.
