Nowcast | as of 3:24 PM EDT on July 4, 2015

Storms and associated outflow boundaries moving in from the west will collide with the East Coast sea breeze boundary through 7pm... resulting in some strong storms roughly from Volusia County southward across Metro Orlando and Lake County. At least a few of these storms will become quite strong and possibly severe...containing strong wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph...frequent lightning strikes...hail and very heavy rainfall. Whether you plan on attending any of the numerous outdoor public events planned for this afternoon and evening...or have your own outdoor activities or festivities planned...seek safe shelter indoors if skies begin to look threatening...or if you hear thunder. Special Statement
Statement as of 3:29 PM EDT on July 04, 2015

... Significant weather advisory for northwestern Brevard... east
central Orange... southeastern Volusia and eastern Seminole counties
until 415 PM EDT...

At 326 PM EDT... Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms near
Mims and the town of Christmas... moving north at 10 to 15 mph.
Additional storms were developing in the vicinity.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Titusville... Oviedo... Wedgefield... Geneva and Christmas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The primary threats will be cloud to ground lightning and strong wind
gusts... which can cause unsecured objects to blow around... snap tree
limbs... cause power outages or capsize small boats. Heavy rainfall
will temporarily reduce visibility. Seek shelter indoors until the
storm passes.

Boaters should be aware that strong wind gusts sometimes occur well
away from the heavy rain and lightning associated with storms.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm... which will reduce
visibility and may lead to temporary flooding of low lying and poor
drainage areas. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike several miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
shelter inside a building or vehicle. Open shelters found in Parks...
on beaches or Golf courses offer no protection from the dangers of
lightning.
