Through 600 am...scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect the waters west of Key West...from near Smith Shoal light to 40 nm south of Sand Key light and westward to Halfmoon Shoal light. Showers and storms will also be present over the offshore Gulf waters west of Mainland Monroe...and the Atlantic waters beyond 40 nm south of the Middle Keys. The strongest storms will produce heavy downpours with visibilities reduced to 2 nm or less...along with wind gusts of 30 knots or more...and frequent lightning strikes. Movement of this activity will be generally to the west at 10 to 15 knots. Over land...areas of light rain will continue to diminish across the Upper Keys...with locations from Whale Harbor to south Key Largo receiving additional rainfall amounts of a trace to a few hundredths of an inch.
