Through 1115 am...scattered to numerous showers will continue across the Florida Keys and surrounding Florida Bay...nearshore Gulf...Hawk Channel...and offshore Florida Straits waters out 60 nm from the Florida reef. Across the islands...a line of showers with possibly a lightning strike or two will move across the islands from Marathon to Summerland Key from Hawk Channel. Locations along this stretch of islands will receive rainfall amounts of up to or greater than one half of an inch. On the waters...a large area of shower and isolated thunderstorm activity will be concentrated beyond 40 nm offshore of the Florida reef south of the Keys island chain. Mariners and motorists in the path of the strongest showers will encounter a brief period of heavy rainfall accompanied by visibility less than 1 mile...isolated wind gusts near 30 mph...and a few lightning strikes. Movement of individual showers continues to the north near 5 mph.
