Through 230 PM...scattered showers will continue to move through northeast Florida. The heavier showers will move southern Marion County. Areas of rain continue to move into the Suwannee Valley from the Gulf of Mexico. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in Marion County later today. The showers are moving northeast at 20 miles per hour.

Local Storm Report
11/24/2009 0420 PM 5 miles E of Grove Park, Alachua County. Lightning, reported by broadcast media. A 10 year old boy was struck by lightning in Hawthorne this afternoon. The boy was taken to Shands at the University of Florida. This report was received from the broadcast meteorologist in Gainesville and confirmed by emergency management officials in Alachua County.
