Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 1:19 PM EST on February 28, 2015

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flood Advisory for street flooding...
southeastern Broward County in southeastern Florida...
northeastern Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...

* until 315 PM EST

* at 119 PM EST... Doppler radar continues to indicate
heavy rains across portions of the area. As much as 6 inches
of rain have been estimated or observed across the area with
heavy rains continuing at this time. Street flooding will
therefore continue to be an impact that will be felt
across the area through at least the next few hours. The Flood
Advisory is therefore now extended and expanded a bit farther
south to include the Miami downtown area and surrounding
communities.

* Some locations that will experience some street flooding include...
Miami... Liberty City... Miami Beach... Opa Locka...
North Miami Beach... and Hallandale including communities
in between and/or adjacent to them.

Additional rainfall of 3-5 inches cannot be discounted over areas where
rain continues to stall compounding to the problem.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
