Nowcast | as of 9:20 PM EDT on September 20, 2014

The surface low continues to move rapidly off to the northeast this evening...pulling further away from the Florida coast. Drier air has begun to filter into the region...with showers now ending over most of the area. A few light sprinkles will be possible through the late evening hours...otherwise most locations over land will remain dry. The exception will be Volusia and northern Brevard where a few showers will continue to brush the coast through the overnight hours. The pressure gradient continues to tighten around the low...which has brought a deterioration of boating conditions over the local Atlantic as west-northwest winds increase to 15 to 20 knots and seas build up to 6 feet. Any boaters going out overnight or early Sunday morning north of Cape Canaveral should exercise caution.
