* at 757 am EDT... radar estimated 1 to over 2 inches of rain had
fallen over the past hour. In addition... this region has received 4
to 8 inches of rain in the past 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in urban areas, highways,
streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low
lying spots. Runoff will also cause elevated waters levels in canals
and ditches.

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a
* Flood Watch for a portion of South Florida... including the
following areas... coastal Broward... coastal Miami Dade...
coastal Palm Beach... Metro Broward... Metro Miami Dade and
Metro Palm Beach.
* Through this evening
* excessive rainfall amounts up to nearly 9 inches have fallen
across portions of the East Coast Metro areas over the last 12
to 15 hours resulting in urban flooding. An additional 1 to 2
inches of rainfall is expected over the same area through this
evening with isolated higher amounts possible.
* Main impacts will be street flooding of urban areas due to poor
drainage and saturated soils.
