... Rough boating conditions expected this Memorial Day weekend...
Rough boating conditions are expected at times over the Holiday weekend across the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Northeast winds increase to between 15 and 20 knots over the coastal waters of the eastern Gulf of Mexico tonight as strong high pressure builds to the north of the Florida Peninsula. Gusty easterly winds will continue through the morning hours of Saturday and then briefly diminish Saturday afternoon. Easterly winds are then expected to quickly increase to advisory levels Saturday evening and remain elevated into Sunday morning.
These conditions will build seas to between 3 and 4 feet away from the coast by late tonight... and then to between 4 and 5 Saturday night.
Boaters venturing out into the eastern Gulf of Mexico for the Memorial Day weekend should prepare for these rough late may conditions during the overnight and morning hours the next several days.
