Statement as of 8:14 AM EST on February 12, 2012

... Freeze watch remains in effect from late tonight through
Monday morning...

* temperature... below freezing for 2 to 3 hours with lows around
30 degrees.

* Impacts... temperatures this cold can kill sensitive vegetation
that is not properly protected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Residents should cover or move indoors any cold sensitive
plants... and bring pets indoors Sunday evening.

A freeze watch is issued for the potential of a widespread and
damaging freeze within 24 to 48 hours. During the freeze
period... temperatures may remain below 32 degrees for more than
2 hours.









High Surf Advisory
Statement as of 3:35 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... High surf advisory now in effect until 4 PM EST Sunday...

The high surf advisory is now in effect until 4 PM EST Sunday.

* Waves and surf: northwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph will result
in surf of 4 to 6 feet.

* Timing: strong rip currents and high surf will continue to
impact the coast through Sunday morning... then slowly diminish
during the afternoon.

* Impacts: high surf will produce dangerous surf and rip
currents at the beaches. People visiting the beaches should
stay out of the high surf.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory is issued when dangerous water action is
expected along the coast. This includes rough surf... large
breaking waves... rip currents... and strong undertow.

Beach goers are urged to heed lifeguard warnings.
