The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has cancelled the
lake Wind Advisory.

* Temperature... low temperatures this morning and tonight will be
in the upper 20s to near 30.

* Impacts... freezing temperatures will kill sensitive vegetation
that is not protected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are expected for
at least 2 hours. Appropriate action should be taken to ensure
tender vegetation and outdoor pets have adequate protection from
the cold temperatures. Young children... the elderly and the
homeless are especially vulnerable to the cold. Take measures to
protect them.

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible for
at least 2 hours.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph... with higher gusts.

* Wind chill readings... teens to lower 20s.

* Impact... those sensitive to the cold or planning on being
outside should take precautions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.






Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 4:19 AM EST on February 12, 2012

... Red flag warning in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 PM EST
this evening for gusty winds and low humidity for northeast Florida.

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a red
flag warning... which is in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 PM
EST this evening.

* Affected area... in Florida... fire weather zones 033 and 038.

* Wind... north winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts around 25 mph this morning.

* Humidity... minimum rh values will be in the 20s.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.

At 654 am the temperature at Jacksonville International Airport fell
to 24 degrees. This breaks the previous record of 26 set in 1981.
