A Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 11 am EST Saturday.

This Freezing Rain Advisory is for most of interior southern New
England along and west of Interstate 95.

Spotty light snow showers have developed across the Merrimack
valley and North Shore areas of Boston... and will continue for a
time this evening.

Areas of freezing drizzle will develop later this evening and
continue into Saturday morning. This will create a light coating
of ice on untreated surfaces including roadways... overpasses...
ramps and walkways. Travel will become hazardous in these areas
as temperatures hover at or below freezing overnight.

Temperatures will gradually climb through the 30s Saturday along
the coastal plain. However... across northwestern Massachusetts
and southwestern New Hampshire... temperatures will take longer to
rise to the freezing mark. Thus the Freezing Rain Advisory will
probably need to be extended across these areas into the
afternoon before the main batch of precipitation arrives during
the evening.

Glaze accumulations are generally expected to range from a tenth
of an inch or less... perhaps slightly more across the Monadnocks
and east slopes of the Berkshires.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
