Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 11:55 PM MDT on July 10, 2009
... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 200 am MDT for north
central Weld County...
At 1152 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
that heavy rain had moved out of the warning area. However... radar
estimates that 2 to 4 inches of rain fell earlier this evening
northeast of Purcell and northwest of Briggsdale. As a result...
streams especially vulnerable to flash flooding include Sand Creek
and Crow Creek and their tributaries downstream to Highway 14.
Locations remaining in the warning include but are not limited to
Grover.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of floods and flash floods. If flash flooding is observed act
quickly. Move up to higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay
in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.
