Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 6:07 AM MDT on May 24, 2015

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 am MDT Sunday for
central Logan County...

At 553 am MDT... emergency management reported flooding continues
across portions of north and northwest Sterling. Mandatory
evacuations were ordered for Globe Meadows and areas between Globe
street and Pioneer Road due to ditch flooding just west of the
trailer park. Many County roads remain closed in locations north and
northwest of Sterling early this morning.

Doppler radar indicted anywhere from three to four inches of rain
had fallen on Saturday. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for this
area for this afternoon and this evening as another round of
thunderstorms is likely along with further flash flooding possible.

Some locations that will experience flooding
include... northern Sterling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
