... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 am Friday to 5 am MST Saturday for the northeast plains of Colorado...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 am Friday to 5 am MST Saturday.
* Timing... strong and gusty northwest winds are expected to develop Friday morning and continue through Friday night. Winds are then expected to diminish on Saturday.
* Accumulation and wind... northwest winds of 20 to 35 mph will become common on the northeast plains of Colorado Friday morning... with gusts as high as 50 mph by the afternoon. There is also a chance of light snow during the day Friday and Friday evening... but any snow accumulation should be less than an inch.
* Impacts... expect blowing and drifting snow to become widespread east of a line from Cheyenne to Limon by late Friday morning. As a consequence driving conditions should deteriorate through the day with blowing snow producing poor visibilities at times. Very cold wind chills ranging from 10 below to 20 below zero will also create difficult travel conditions and make being outdoors potentially hazardous.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that snow... blowing snow... or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
