The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Mesa County in west central Colorado...

* until 530 PM MDT

* at 234 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Junction... Orchard Mesa... Fruitvale... Glade Park... Clifton
and Redlands.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water on roadways. The
excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of small creeks and
streams... as well as ranch and country roads. The heavy rainfall
will also cause normally dry washes and arroyos to flow. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

* Flood Advisory for...
western Mesa County in west central Colorado...
southeastern Grand County in east central Utah...

* until 500 PM MDT

* at 159 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gateway... John Brown Canyon... and other small creeks and normally
dry washes draining into the Dolores River in The Gateway area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown. Never drive your vehicle into areas where
the water covers the roadway. Mud and debris on roadways may make
them impassable.

Excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of small creeks and
streams... as well as ranch and country roads. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
