The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Winter Storm Watch for heavy snow... which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.
Showers are expected to begin over the area Thursday evening as a strong winter-like storm moves into the area. Mixed rain and snow will change to all snow Thursday night in the wake of a cold front associated with this storm. Total snowfall accumulations ranging from 4 to 8 inches... approaching one foot in foothill areas... are possible by late Friday evening.
