Tropical Weather: Subtropical Storm Beryl (North Atlantic) Post-Tropical Cyclone Bud (East Pacific) Tropical Storm Sanvu (Western Pacific)
Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Subtropical Storm Beryl formed late Friday off the Carolina Coast and is expected to move slowly southwestward over the weekend. The storm may maintain tropical storm strength as it approaches the northeast coast of Florida later Sunday night. The storm itself may dump a significant amount of rain on this part of Florida and adjacent areas of Georgia, potentially good news to an area that is currently in an exceptional drought.

The main weather feature over the nation will be a low pressure system moving off the Rockies and into the Plains on Saturday. Flow around this system continues pushing a warm front eastward, over the Plains and through the Midwest. Expect widespread showers and thunderstorms to develop along this frontal boundary, from the Northern and Central Plains through the Great Lakes. Some of these storms will turn severe with strong winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. Severe thunderstorms are most likely over Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. By Saturday evening, the tail end of this system will reach the Northeast, bringing lighter and more widespread showers and thunderstorms to the region.

The back side of this broad low pressure system will continue pulling cool air in from Canada. This will allow for rain showers to turn to snow showers at the highest elevations of the Northern Rockies, Intermountain West, and Central Rockies. At the same time, strong and gusty winds will persist for the southern side of this system. In combination with warm and dry conditions, this will maintain high fire danger for the Southwest and Southern Rockies.

... The June through August 2012 outlook for the Front Range urban
corridor and the rest of Colorado...

June is the unofficial start of the Summer convective severe weather
season in Colorado. Large hail... flash floods... damaging
thunderstorm winds and tornadoes comprise the list of severe weather
most often observed each Summer along the Front Range and the rest
of Colorado. Lightning is another threat to life and property that
increases significantly during the month of June... with drought and
wild fire rounding out the list.

What is the outlook for this summer? With La Nina now over and the
possibility of an El Nino next fall and winter... how may Summer
weather patterns across Colorado be influenced by the recent change
in enso?

For possible answers to these and other questions including the
latest weather outlook for the next three months... you are invited
to go to the Boulder National Weather Service website at:

On the front Page of this web site under the header "top news of the
day" click on the link titled "june-July-August 2012 outlook for the
Front Range and the rest of colorado". Please allow several seconds
for this colorful multi-slide presentation to Load on your screen.
