Statement as of 5:43 PM MDT on May 06, 2015

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 715 PM MDT for
western Eagle... central Delta... Mesa... northwestern Pitkin...
northwestern Gunnison... southwestern Routt... central Rio Blanco and
Garfield counties...

At 537 PM MDT... Doppler radar and observations show another strong
thunderstorm will move into the warned area. Strong thunderstorms
with heavy rain showers will be moving into the western portion of
the Grand Valley and the bookcliff region between 6 PM and 630 PM.
Heavy rain showers will cause rapid runoff as the ground is already

water rises. Another hazard will be Falling Rocks and potential
of mudslides.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Junction... Glenwood Springs... Fruita... Rifle... Gypsum...
Carbondale... New Castle... Basalt... Silt... Palisade... Meeker...
Parachute... Collbran... De Beque... Snowmass... Mesa... Rio Blanco...
Battlement Mesa... Emma and Whitewater.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you are located in a stream prone to flash flooding... move to
higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
